BBC iPlayer TV

BBC iPlayer allows you to watch  BBC television programmes for up to 7 days after transmission, via the Internet.  BBC Radio programmes are also available via iPlayer, but are handled in a separate application.

On loading BBC iPlayer TV, the user is presented with two windows, the left window lists the available BBC channels,  (at the time of writing BBC 1, 2, 3 and 4, Childrens’ BBC, CBeebies, BBC News, BBC Parliment and BBC Alba)  the right hand window displays a list of all the programmes available on the selected channel.

Pressing ALT+S moves the cursor into the stations list, you can then use the up and down arrow to choose the station you require.  Then press ALT+P to move into the programmes list.  You can either use the arrow keys to navigate the list of programmes, but this would be rather time consuming. Pressing CTRL+F will bring up a the dialogue box, enter the name of the programme you’re looking for and the first matching episode will be selected. Pressing Enter will launch the programme in your default web browser.

Accessible BBC iPlayer is available from www.webbie.org.uk.
