Read this to me please! – Natural Reader

If you find it tiring, or difficult to read long passages of text from your computer screen  then you may like to try Natural Reader.

Natural reader is a text to speech application, simply select the text you’d like reading out, and then press CTRL+F9. Natural reader will then automatically read the text back to you. Pressing CTRL+F9 again will pause the speechYou can also save the spoken text as an MP3 file, allowing you to listen it on your MP3 player, or burn it to an Audio CD.

The software is available in two versions, the free version uses the standard Microsoft Windows voices which sound very robotic. The paid for version costs around £30 and has much more natural sounding voices, allows multiple text files to be converted at once and audio recording and editing facilities.

Natural reader is ideal if you don’t normally use speech, but would occasionally find it helpful to have text read out to you. Natural reader isn’t a screen reader, it will only read text that you’ve manually selected.
