Preventing submenus from opening automatically on the Start Menu
Do you find it annoying how Windows automatically opens a submenu if you linger a little too long with your mouse in the Start Menu. Here’s how to switch this off.
- In the Start Menu search box type “customize the start menu” and press ENTER. The Task Bar and Start Menu properties dialogue box will be displayed.
- Press C to open the the Customize Start Menu options
- Press O to select “Open submenus when I pause on them with the mouse pointer“
- Press SPACE to untick the“Open submenus when I pause on them with the mouse pointer” option
- Press ENTER to return to the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialogue box
- Press A to apply your changes, then ESCAPE to close the dialogue box.
